Lessons for Nigeria: Determining Authorship and Inventorship of Artificial Intelligence Generated Works

چکیده
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained widespread momentum in today’s tech-savvy world. AI is now capable of creating copyright works and inventions without human intervention. Such AI-created challenge the frontiers intellectual property rights (IPR), particularly those on patents copyright. The extant patent laws Nigeria (Copyright Act, 1988, Patent 1970) were drafted when authorship inventorship not a primary consideration. international legal framework IPR also addressed this issue conclusively. Using doctrinal method research, paper examines poses to under laws. It takes peek into advanced jurisdictions which have had opportunity address these issues, draw lessons for where National Centre Robotics recently been established issues are envisaged arise as carries out its objectives. This finds that Nigeria, an system cannot be designated author or inventor. Considering advancement technology, will exclude from protection Nigeria. While drawing other jurisdictions, recommends responsive regulation technology through legislative amendment accommodates systems authors inventors with presumption law allows ownership, rights, liabilities borne by owners such systems.

متن کاملArtificial Intelligence for Artificial Artificial Intelligence
Crowdsourcing platforms such as Amazon Mechanical Turk have become popular for a wide variety of human intelligence tasks; however, quality control continues to be a significant challenge. Recently, we propose TURKONTROL, a theoretical model based on POMDPs to optimize iterative, crowdsourced workflows. However, they neither describe how to learn the model parameters, nor show its effectiveness...
متن کاملAuthorship and Inventorship: An analysis of publishing and patenting norms and their consequences at American universities
Introduction Norms governing academic science are different from those governing patent law. Yet the two spheres are increasingly in contact, and sometimes conflict, as many academics patent their scientific discoveries. Under U.S. law, patents can be invalidated for omitting inventors. Such omissions can arise from discrepancies between the criteria for authorship and that for inventorship, bu...

Computer Generated Forces (CGFs) are a key component in constructive simulations and are being increasingly used to control multiple entities in Synthetic Environments (SEs). Being a cost-effective way to providing extra players in SEs, they are becoming a possible alternative in various activities, such as Concept, Development and Experimentation (CD&E), analysis, training, tactic development,...
